José Aniceto

PhD in Chemical Engeneering

About me

My name is José Pedro Aniceto and I have just completed my PhD in Chemical Engineering at University of Aveiro where I studied the isolation and purification of bioactive compounds from biomass residues using simulated moving bed chromatography. These molecules have high commercial value but are difficult to separate thus requiring advanced separation techniques.

Since 2011 I have worked as a researcher of Associate Laboratory CICECO, University of Aveiro, where my research activities have been focused in separation processes, namely ion exchange and chromatographic processes. In this time I have authored or co-authored scientific papers, book chapters, and participated in international conferences.

Currently I am a Post-Doc researcher working on the supercritical extraction and purification of several by-products of the food and agroforestry sectors, with the aim of producing high value extracts.
